Homemade butter

I did not realize how easy it is to make butter at home. In my head, “churn” was always associated with butter… and ice-cream… mmmmm… but back to the butter, I didn’t actually put it together that shaking cream would become soft, smooth, yellow, creamy, amazing butter. Like actual, real buttery butter!

When you start thinking about all the many things that need to be changed in our daily lifestyle to achieve this “purity”, you may lose your nerve, but making this butter may be just the thing to get you back on the I-can-do-this train.

You will need:
– Organic heavy cream
– A butter maker

What to do:
– Pour 1 cup of heavy cream into the butter maker and then leave it for 6-8 hours.
– Shake vigorously for 3 minutes
– Empty the extra milk (which can be used as butter milk)
– Rinse the butter (use the built in strainer to get rid of the water)
– Salt as desired
– Enjoy!
